Australian telco Swoop has teamed up with Swiss-based cybersecurity nonprofit Quad9 to deliver free, enterprise-grade DNS protection nationwide, ensuring Australians regain access to fast, reliable security against online threats.

The Front Range GigaPop (FRGP) Research and Education Network (REN), managed by the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), announces the adoption of the Quad9 DNS service to further strengthen its cybersecurity infrastructure for member institutions. This critical partnership underscores the FRGP’s commitment to delivering secure, reliable, and high-performance network services across the research and education community.

After a long but successful result in the German case brought by SONY Music in December 2023, Quad9 is now facing new legal challenges in France. Quad9 has been presented with demands by Canal+, a French media company, to block a list of sites they claim are infringing on their intellectual property by copying or rebroadcasting content.
