Infrastructure Provisioning Manager

Role summary

The Infrastructure Provisioning Manager is responsible for coordinating infrastructure provisioning across the Quad9’s global footprint, serving as the primary link between external infrastructure partners and internal engineering and operations teams. The role has four main areas of ownership: capacity planning, partnership management, procurement and vendor management, and logistics.

Capacity planning

Track the current infrastructure footprint, identify capacity limitations, and propose solutions that account for deployment priorities, budget constraints, and existing partner relationships. Identify hotspot locations and propose plans to improve resiliency. Support planning and execution for new site deployments, expansions, consolidations, and changes to existing locations. Create and manage a list of potential and pending deployments with the Engineering department providing guidance.

Partnership management

Own relationships with existing infrastructure partners and lead outreach to prospective new site operators and partners. Serve as the primary coordination point for provisioning-related communication with datacenter providers, carriers, and other infrastructure partners. Regularly update partners with status and act as the first point of contact for any elements between Quad9 and partners.

Procurement and vendor management

Based on specifications guidelines from engineering, identify and evaluate hardware vendors to meet specifications at best value points, build and maintain purchasing pipelines, and work with procurement and finance to support timely equipment acquisition aligned with capacity needs.

Logistics

Coordinate the shipment, receipt, return, and general handling of equipment across global locations, including RMAs. Based on input from Capacity Planning activities and TechOps requirements, oversee hardware lifecycle management from initial procurement through decommission, and maintain accurate records and timelines for all equipment movements.

Working location

This is a remote position. The ideal candidate will be located in the UTC -5 to UTC +1 timezone range.
